Foreign Missions

Westminster Presbyterian Church supports a large number of missionaries through Mission to the World and Wycliffe Bible Translators as well as Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf and International Christian Centers for the Deaf. A complete list of missionaries we support may be found on the missions display in the church atrium.

FAITH PROMISE Westminster supports its various missionaries financially through a giving program called Faith Promise. Each year, an annual financial commitment is made by the congregation as a whole to our missionaries around the world. The total suggested commitment for the following year is presented to the church body for approval on a Sunday in mid-November. Each member of the Westminster family is also asked to prayerfully consider being individually involved in helping Westminster meet the annual Faith Promise financial commitment throughout the year so that all of our missionaries can be financially provided for as they minister in their respective fields.

ADOPT A MISSIONARY Small groups, Sunday School classes, and individuals are encouraged to ‘adopt a missionary’ from the list of Westminster Missionaries to pray for, support when necessary, and liaison with when they come for a visit. The church office makes sure that adopters have the most up to date missionary letters for that missionary and are notified when a missionary they have adopted will be visiting.

MISSIONS TRIPS Though Westminster plays a role in supporting missionaries within the area and abroad, many of Westminster’s members have also traveled abroad on various missions trips. Those who participated used their skills as physicians, signing for the deaf, doing carpentry; with each one having the opportunity to serve Jesus Christ. Some of the places traveled were South Africa, Jamaica, Sudan, Mexico, Thailand, Ukraine, and many more. Our next missions endeavor will be to Scotland in 2016 and sending one of our pastors to Africa.
