Will I go to Heaven?

Heaven is only for perfect people, as the God of Heaven is a perfect God and demands perfection from His creatures (Lev. 19:2). Sadly, since the entrance of sin into our world long ago, no one is perfect, no not one (Rom. 3:23). We all deserve God’s wrath and judgment upon sin forever in Hell (Rom. 6:23). But God, in His love, mercy, grace, and wisdom, chose to send His son, Jesus Christ, to earth as a man (John 1:14), a perfect man, who never sinned but perfectly fulfilled the Law of God. God sent Jesus to earth to take the place of His people, satisfying the perfection demanded by God but was lacking in His people, and to die the death that His people deserved (2 Cor. 5:21) Thus, despite that perfection, Jesus Christ was crucified, nailed to a cross, taking upon Himself the sins of His people as well as the judgment and wrath of God upon those sins (Mark 15:34). Paying for His people’s sins, Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice in His people’s place (Heb. 7:27). But death did not have the victory, because three days later Christ rose from the dead, declaring that all power and authority was His (Matt. 28:18, Rom. 1:4) and that all who trusted in Him alone for salvation would be forgiven of their sins (Eph. 1:7, declared holy in His sight (2 Cor. 5:21), adopted into His family (John 1:12), and guaranteed eternal life in Heaven (Rom. 6:23), and sealed with the power of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13-14), not because we have earned it, but through faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you have never trusted in Christ alone to make you perfect, forgiving your sins and covering you in His perfection, please contact the church office so we can help you discover how you can know for sure you will spend forever with God in Heaven.
